The Sexualized Assault Services (SAS) program offers support to individuals with current or historical experiences of sexualized assault in the Cranbrook/ Kimberley area. The SAS program can provide individuals with a range of practical and emotional supports, such as accompaniment to medical appointments/hospital visits, information about reporting options and the criminal justice system, assistance with court preparation and court accompaniment, support with justice-related forms and applications, help with safety planning, assistance accessing financial supports, as well as by providing resources and referrals to other community programs. Police involvement is not a requirement for accessing services, and the SAS program will support all survivors in taking whichever path best aligns with their needs, goals, and overall healing journey. There are also no age or gender restrictions to accessing the program. The SAS program is appointment-based, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with extended drop-in hours on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Community Connections Society of Southeast BC, while the OPTIONS Sexual Health Clinic operates.
