Daycare Programs

All of our daycare programs run at a high capacity and currently have a waitlist.

Summit Community Services Society has been challenged by staff shortages in the daycare field recently. This is not just a local problem, but a provincial and national concern, and we must continue to advocate for change in the way funding for daycare is allocated. Despite all the challenges, the staff of all our daycares continue to provide excellent, quality care for the children in our programs.

Cranbrook Programs

Little Summit Daycare

Two programs are offered the first for infant toddlers from birth to 36 months, and the second for children from 3-5 years. These programs are both very popular and have wait lists for both programs. The 3-5 program involves many staff-led activities for the children, such as using the city bus system to take the children to the public library to borrow books or to the pet store to visit the animals.

First Steps Daycare

For infant toddlers from birth to 36 months. First Steps Daycare provides a quality, caring and supportive childcare program that addresses the unique child care needs of the community.

Second Steps Daycare

For children aged 3-5 years.

Second Steps works with the Supported Child Development team to effectively support children exhibiting challenging behaviors in order to be an inclusive program that is appropriate for all children needing care.
