IN-HOME PARENTING SUPPORT PROGRAM/FAMILY ENHANCEMENT
This program provides short-term intensive support and skill enhancement to families in order to promote the safety and well being of children, family members, and the community. The aim of the programs is to build on family strengths, improve individual and family functioning, and eliminate behaviours that place a child at risk in their parent’s care. The desired outcome of the program is that the family situation will be enhanced so that children can remain in or be returned to their parent’s care and grow in a nurturing and stable environment.
The Family Enhancement Program provides intervention and education in the areas of parenting and other family issues, which present risk to children of high-risk families, mandated by the Ministry for Children and Family Development. The Program also responds to families with an intense set of practical support services within the family home to enhance parenting skills to meet any emerging crisis.
